Who Am I?

Each time I need to write a bio about myself, I am confronted with a feeling of deja-vu that reminds me of tacky online dating websites. You will be surprized to see that this blog is written by the vegan’s/healthy type’s arch nemesis. But before talking about my lifestyle, let me introduce myself in a more formal manner:

I’m David from Montreal, Canada; I’ve been an Internet Entrepreneur and Marketing Consultant for the last couple of years. Prior to having my own business, I had odd jobs here and there. By working in these weird jobs, I had the opportunity to have a taste of different market sectors and meet very interesting people.

Throughout these experiences I learned what I wanted in life, but furthermore, what I absolutely wanted to avoid at all costs. I’ve had only one goal in life for the last couple of years, and it was to live my life to the fullest and for it to be governed by pleasure. I guess you can say that I’m some sort of hedonist.

My other passion is food. I love to learn about it, cook it, make it look nice, and eat it! What’s also pretty cool is that I’m no food snob. I love to eat any kind of food, posh or not, and fast food has a big place in my heart.

Prior to starting this blog, I did some fasting tests (for a consecutive 21 days) to see if fasting worked, and if it was above all feasable to go without food for a prolonged period of time. Then came a very busy period in my business, and I was quite recently single, so I went all out and indulged excessively in all my vices.

Over the period of my first fast I lost a whopping 40 pounds of weight in 21 days! Then, for 60 days my life was essentially composed of the following: fast food/restaurant food/buffet food – two or three times a day, working mad hours, going out on desert binges, drinking copious amounts of alcohol, and indulging in other unhealthy activities which I will omit for legal reasons.

The result of such a hazardous lifestyle is a weight gain of 16 pounds caused by an excess of about 910 calories per day, if it is 16 pounds of pure fat. I somehow feel that at least half of that is water weight though, so who knows…?

All this being said, as you may notice, I’m not a health nut, yet I’m on a quest to better my health and make small changes to my life in order to be more healthy, and in shape! I’m sure that there is a way to balance my caveman habits with pleasant healthy life habits in order to form a holistic environment where I will be happy to maintain my health.
